Mud Floods

Rain and mud floods.

We are used to floods and mud, sand and other debris that causes big problems for pool owners in South Africa all over the country. What most pool owners still don't know is how to get all of that mud out of the pool without draining the conplete thing. Try and scoop out as much as possible floating debris. We suggest that you take a water sample to your nearest Elene's Pools to make sure that the water is not acidic. That is the first thing that needs attention. After the balance is corrected we suggest a metal remover with peroxide and floculant. Bioguard and WaterwellPro products are excellent to use and we stock their complete range of chemicals.

Make sure to vacuum the pool after everything has settled on waste with a 8-wheel sweeper. If you are going to handvacuum on filter everything will just push back to the pool and you will just keep stirring the mud back. You might need to do this vacuum proses a few times depending on how much mud and sand is in the pool.

Next is replacing the filter sand. It is very important to make sure that you get all the mud out of the filter before putting the new clean sand in. And remeber to use only silica sand that you can find at our poolshops. Replacing the sand can be a tricky thing and labour intensive and we suggest most of the time that our clients contact us to do the job. Phone us on Tel 0126530006 and any of the shop attendants will be more than glad to book a job at a date and time that will suit you.

If this seems too much for you and you don't feel like getting involve with the complete cleaning process, then just give us a call.

I really hope that this info helped. There are a few other things also to keep in mind when dealing with a muddy pool but we will give you all the correct information when you bring your water sample in. If you stay to far, please phone...we will always help.
